Happy St Patrick's Day!
St Patrick's Day and the day of the Australian Grand Prix no less. That should make the mix in Melbournes pubs this evening pretty interesting.
I have some very good news today. I weighed in this morning, I wasn't going to until the 1st of April but I figured what the hell it's been two weeks. Today I am 98.1kg (216.3lbs). That's total loss up to 28.6kg (63lbs). My weight is still really high, and it still sounds really horrible in pounds but the weight loss sounds better and better!
I am still pretty terrified of what that means. I can't even remember the last time I was under a hundred kilos but I'm guessing it was sometime in high school (which is getting on for 20 years ago). I'm very scared of it edging back up and this is all the more daunting when I realise that it's me alone that is responsible for preventing that from happening. It's a lot of pressure and it's still, even after almost nine months, not easy.
I will say a short but sincere thank you to everyone who has been supporting me on my journey. Even though it is ultimately up to me to make it happen, I don't think I would've managed it quite so well without your support and assistance. Special thanks to Bertie for taking my measurements regularly, to Gub for taking many midnight crazies calls and to Mr Smart for persistently nudging me in the right direction even when I grumble.
Today was a good day. I got up lateish, certainly later than Mr Smart, had a shower, cooked us a breakfast of scrambled eggs and bacon toast. Pottered around getting laundry and dishes underway and then eventually, sat down on the couch to finish off Casino Royale. They certainly didn't skimp on the Daniel Craig as man candy did they... After the movie finished, it was early afternoon and Mr Smart gave me that look. The look that says 'I'm about to tell you it's time for me to go home'. I pouted immediately of course, but I accepted the inevitability of it.
After he left I got back on to completing my laundry and dishes. You'd never even know I made a messy job of cooking last night, everything is clean again already. After that, despite really not wanting to leave the house, I figured I'd better do a spot of grocery shopping so that I could be sure of having at least two nights dinners taken care of.
I got home, laid away the shopping (which included some chocoalte Easter bunnies for my nieces and nephews) then set about making and eating dinner. While I ate dinner I caught up on a little television before coming to write up the blog.
Today's food was:
- Breakfast was two slices of toasted sBürgen Wholemeal & Seeds Bread topped with one crispy fried slice of short cut bacon and three and a half eggs worth of scrambled eggs.
- Dinner was two garlic and herb kangaroo kebabs (200g raw weight) with about 120g Moroccan salad.
- Post dinner TV snack was 45g Smiths Cheese & Onion potato chips.
- Dessert was 125g of cut strawberries with half a teaspoon of sugar and a 170g Dairy Farmers Thick & Creamy 98% fat free country vanilla cream yoghurt.
It's been a good weekend, I'm sad to see it go but I am actually looking forward to work tomorrow. I have four more days until invoice entry deadline so I'm hoping to get really stuck in to the pile of unprepared invoices still adorning my desk.
I am going to do a little more pottering and preparing before I head to bed. I like to make sure I have everything ready to go by the door before I go to bed, it saves me from forgetting important things like my fruit and nuts.
Have a wonderful week ahead everyone.
Jess
