At least I have tomorrow off work. Normally I take my days off on Fridays but this week's deadlines made Thursday more convenient. It's turned out to be super-convenient as Bertie also has tomorrow off and Mum and Dad arrive from Adelaide on a morning flight! Mum is going to meet us at the Queen Vic Market! Woohoo, girls day!
I still haven't got around to getting my new slow-cooker. The one I want is not the cheapest and now there is a new appliance tempting me! The Philips AirFryer! And it just happens to be on special at Target this week! It's normally $329 but Target have it 40% off which is a decent whack. My new right-hand gal has one and has been telling me how wonderful it is so it's under serious consideration. I could have chippies!! Sweet potato ones of course, but chippies nevertheless!
Today's food and exercise were:
- Breakfast was a wholemeal bread ham and cheese toasted sandwich.
- Morning snack was a large slice of banana bread heated in the microwave and spread lightly with Meadow Lea margarine. I indulged. Anywhere else would have called it two slices of banana bread! I want to try toasting banana bread at some point, topped perhaps with cream cheese and berries.
- Lunch was a Mission Five Grain Wrap spread spread with Philadelphia Extra Light Spreadable Cream Cheese (about 30g) and a smear of Masterfoods Horseradish Cream then topped with 67g of sliced Pastoral rare roast beef, baby spinach and cucumber slices. I served it with a side of carrot sticks (one whole medium carrot) and then I had a slightly unripe medium banana.
- Afternoon snack was a kiwi fruit with the skin on.
- Exercise was 45 minutes on the cross trainer including texts and a short phone call from my three year old niece and her mummy MinxB.
Buffy Season 3 is now finished!
- Dinner was a pan-friend lamb leg steak (about 200g raw) with garlic, berries (mostly redcurrants) and cumin seeds served with steamed snow peas, carrot, broccoli and slivered almonds and a dab of balsamic glaze. The dressing on the lamb might sound a little weird but was actually quite enjoyable. The redcurrants are so tart they worked like lemon juice almost. It was weird when a blueberry occasionally happened by, but it was mostly a success.
- Dessert was 17g of Klingele Balance dark chocolate with cocoa nibs.
I still didn't do any house work tonight. I will have to make up the spare bed tomorrow after the market and find a new place to put the junk that found its way onto the floor in the spare room! But that's a problem for tomorrow.
