As a special surprise to help me catch up on blogs, Mr Smart wrote today's. Enjoy!
Despite having a relatively late night after Tricky’s birthday celebration, I still naturally woke up at around 7am. Normally I would have rolled over and attempted to get a few more hours sleep. Or even a few minutes. While I wish I could say that it was the upcoming assignment deadline that drove me to stay awake, the first thing I did was grab my phone to check the results of the Champions League final. I would have liked to have watch the match live, but the 4am kick off was too much for even me, especially since I don’t strongly support either of the teams playing. I would have preferred to see Borussia Dortmund to win since they had an Aussie on their bench, but sadly Bayern Munich were too strong and were crowned Champions of Europe.
Soccer curiosity sated, I got up, leaving Jess to enjoy some
more sleep and set up shop on the couch with my laptop to work on the
assignment. I won’t bore you with the details of analysing the brand equity of
Snapple, but was mostly happy with the progress I made. I paused long enough to
clean up some dishes and make myself coffee and set to work again. Boy, Jess
sure was enjoying her sleep in!
Finally she woke up and set about making brunch for us. How
wonderful is she? Bacon, courtesy of the late night Coles stop the night
before, and eggs on toast. Suitably replenished, I returned to my study, while
Jess worked on some household chores. My progress was slowing, but I kept
pushing on to try and get as much done as I could. I put some Star Trek
episodes on in the background. Having seen them all, they take no concentration
to follow, but provide a nice background while I work. Much like normal people
listen to music! I did catch Jess pausing to watch some of the action, even the
episode of Enterprise!
An afternoon snack of Devil Wings, again courtesy of the
wonderful Jess (and the late night Coles stop), helped keep me going but I soon
reached my limited and packed up my stuff. A discussion of our week’s plans,
and all too brief a hug, and I made my way home. In theory the drive home was supposed to provide me with
enough of a break to return to studying when I got home, but it seemed no one told
the chores that were waiting for me. I did manage to get one piece finished,
but the main assignment remained untouched. Still, there’s a few hours left in
the day, so still a chance I’ll get to it!
All in all though, a rather productive day to end off a
thoroughly enjoyable weekend.
Hope you all enjoyed the guest blog and until next time,
Mr Smart signing off!
